ETS ANNOUNCEMENT ON GRE® CHANGES
After two false starts, the Graduate Record Exam, the graduate school entrance test, will be revamped and slightly lengthened in 2011 and graded on a new scale of 130 to 170. The Educational Testing Service, which administers the G.R.E., described its plans Friday at the annual meeting of the Council of Graduate Schools in San Francisco, calling the changes "the largest revisions" in the history of the test. The Polish-American Freedom Foundation - Founder of the Lane Kirkland Scholarship Program, and the Polish – U.S. Fulbright Commission - Program Administrator, announce an open competition for candidates from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, as well as Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for the Lane Kirkland Scholarships in the 2010-11 academic year. 2010-2011 MAASTRICHT UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR OVERSEAS STUDENTS
The Open Society Foundation and Maastricht University invite applicants for the above scholarships in the field of European Studies. Applicants should have outstanding relevant academic qualifications and good English. Each scholarship includes max. 18 months and covers the tuition fees at Maastricht University, a stipend to cover living costs (for one person only) during the studies and the internship, and return air travel from the scholar’s home country. THE OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM 2010-2011
The Opportunity Program, funded by the U.S. Department of State, is designed to support the application process to U.S. higher education institutions for students who are highly qualified but are unable to cover expenses related to the application process. The Opportunity Program provides funds to talented international students of limited means who are applying to universities in the United States and who are not eligible for (or not funded by other) U.S. Government-sponsored exchange programs. To be eligible for funding, students must be applying to degree-programs (AA/AS, BA/BS, LLM, MA/MS, MBA, Ph.D., etc.). SEVIS FEE INCREASES
The new funding will create a new database that will improve interactive features for school administrators and dramatically reduce user errors. SEVP will begin school recertifications to help verify and further educate school administrators on program requirements. The fee increases will allow the program to hire more regional field liaisons to provide day-to-day advice and assistance to schools in support of their programs. More ...
